Thursday

Thankful!

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone! Though this shouldn't be the only time we look at our lives to see what we are thankful for, it is when most people think about it. So I, falling in this catagory, thought I would share mine with you while I am thinking about it.
1. My wonderful husband who has stood by me through many many hours of editing until early hours in the morning, meetings, and photo sessions while he was home waiting for me. He has been supportive and caring and very helpful and creative. I love him so much and don't think I would be who I am or where I am without him. He is my rock, my shoulder to cry on, my laughing partner, and the one who is there when I just need someone there.
2.I am thankful for the wonderful couples who have let me share in their lives. I am so happy to have met so many wonderful people and there are many more that I get to meet very soon! This upcoming year is going to be so fun!
3. My family. I am blessed that I have such a great huge family. A bonus is that I have several places to go eat and bring home leftovers to feed us for days without cooking!!!!! You can't beat that.
4. My friends. They too have been very supportive and filled me with confidence and laughter. Thank you to everyone who have let me smile with them, cry with them, and just be me. I love you all!

Wednesday

Lauren and Jim

Lauren and Jim were married at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Beaufort, SC. Her gorgeous dress was Delilah by Amy Kuschel and described as Old Hollywood Glamour. It was stunning. The limo dropped the wedding party at the reception held at the Callawassie Island Clubhouse. The celebration lasted well into the night. The Travis Allison Band was great. The whole day was spectacular! Patsy Collins of Be My Guest put it all together for the couple and kept everything going very smooth. Once I put up their slideshow, Lauren emailed me and said "They look FABULOUS!!!!! I couldn't be happier. Thank you so much." I love hearing from the couple after they have seen their photos. It just makes me love what I do even more. Congratulations Lauren and Jim!

Monday

Kristin and Philipp

This was a really fun couple! Kristin and Philipp were married at a beautiful white chapel in Shelby, NC. They had originally planned their wedding to be at their home around the water, however the drought has kept the water levels too low. So they came across this perfect chapel and changed the locations. They ceremony was not traditional in some aspects but it was in others. I loved how they had a reading addressing their parents individually, telling them how thankful they were for the part of them that had influenced the couple to become the the people they are today. It was beautiful. After the ceremony they had a fun setup with the American Gothic background, complete with props, a pitch fork, hay bails, and the works. It was so fun for everyone.

Amy and Lucas

Amy and Lucas were married at the Lake Lure Inn and Spa. You may remember this place from one of the most popular movies ever, Dirty Dancing. It was a beautiful setting for a perfect wedding. Amy got ready in Baby's Bungalow and the ceremony was held by the pool. It was a beautiful sunny day. I love the emotions throughout this wedding. There were many good tears.

I just love this image of Amy dancing with her father and Lucas watching in the background. The tears were just rolling down her cheeks.

Friday

Ali & Barrett

Ali and Barrett planned a wonderful wedding day. It was different from any wedding I have had the pleasure to be part of. We started around 6:30 in the morning documenting the setup. Then I was off with the bride and my assistant was off to meet the groomsmen. Their ceremony was held mid morning at the St James Plantation in Southport, NC. It was filled with tears of joy and lots of laughter. I loved the part when Ali's dad went to his seat and Barrett tried to sneak a kiss in before he was supposed to. He just couldn't help himself. After the ceremony they held a fantastic brunch at the clubhouse. Everyone gathered and I heard one of the most touching toasts from the best man. Yes, I cried. Instead of cutting the cake, they had cupcakes. Very good cupcakes!

Then everyone went and changed for a beach/pool party. It was a great way to relax and have some fun. Who says the guys can't have football on their wedding day?
They have a little fun in the water....

and have a lot of fun in the water....
Then everyone goes back and gets ready for the evening celebration. Ali and Barrett reserved a nightclub on the beach for their reception. I absolutely loved Ali's dress.

They partied all night long. Check out Barrett's smooth moves.
It was a fabulous day!

Ashley & Lee

Ashley and Lee were married at Trinity Baptist Church in West Asheville, NC. We changed the day a little with the traditional family pictures. We took them after the reception. They loved the idea since they wanted to go straight to the reception and visit with their guests. They didn't want them waiting, so I suggested having the immediate family and bridal party come together after everyone had visited. This worked out wonderful for the couple. Once they did their going away, we met back up for some couple photos. These were awesome! I also have to say the cake was delicious!!!! Waynette from Sweet Promises did a fantastic job as always!

I got this wonderful email from Ashley and Lee and just had to share. "We just wanted to tell you how much we appreciate all of your hard work! Our wedding pictures are absolutely AMAZING!! We could not of asked for better pictures, or a better photographer, for our special day! You have such an amazing talent for photography! We definitely consider you to be one of the BEST in your field!
The slideshow is Wonderful too! You have such a talent for capturing the right moments, and pairing those moments with beautiful music. You couldn't have picked a more perfect song for our slideshow. This special song and our wedding day just go hand-in-hand! It brings tears to our eyes everytime we watch it!! We are so lucky to have found you for our wedding day. You truly went above and beyond, and captured the moments that were so special to us. It feels like our wedding day all over again when we look back at the memories that will last a lifetime!
Thank you again for being so great!
Ashley and Lee Mckinney :)"

WOW! Need I say more.....

Jenny you are stunning! I am so glad I finally get to show off her portrait session. We had so much fun that day and couldn't have asked for a more beautiful area.

Linnea and Paul

Linnea and Paul flew in for the weekend and we had the perfect day for an engagement session. Their wedding is next May at the Basilica of St. Lawrence in downtown Asheville with the reception to follow at the Copper Crest Resort. I am looking forward to seeing them again. We are going to have a lot more fun!

Catch Up Time!

Wow! Has it been so long since I last posted? It is time to play catch up and let everyone in on the latest happenings. Over the next few days I will be posting about the many couples that I have had the pleasure to work with. First I want to share my excitement about being featured again in the Bride's Book magazine with my engagement session photos. There are three entire pages of my images! How cool is that!
